Meet Dr. Johnson

 Steven D. Johnson, D.D.S.

With over 30 years of dental practice, Dr. Johnson believes that taking advantage of the most current techniques and procedures in dentistry is key to providing the best quality care to his patients.

Throughout his career, he has been an area leader in using new techniques and procedures. He has studied with Dr. P. I. Brånemark, developer of the modern osseointegrated dental implant. Dr. Johnson is one of the few surgeons who have been trained in the use of Zygomatic Implants and the use of Platelet Rich Plasma, to enhance bone grafting and tissue healing. In the area of TMJ Disorder, Dr . Johnson was one of the first surgeons in the area to use arthroscopy procedures.

Because of his commitment to education and professional development , he founded the St. Croix Dental Study Club in 1978 to provide continuing education for doctors and their staffs. This study club remains an active force in providing educational opportunities for the dental and medical community. Dr. Johnson maintains and improves his surgery skills through active participation in this club, as well as through other national and international programs. He has also had extensive post graduate, hands-on study in TMJ surgery, implant surgery, and reconstructive surgery. Additionally, he has lectured to many dental and medical groups and has co-authored articles for professional journals in these areas.

Dr. Johnson has been in private practice since 1977, and is on staff at Stillwater Lakeview Hospital and River Falls Area Hospital.
